One room completed – and in use!

A view of the finished sewing room/grandchildren's bedroom (for sleepovers). The curtains started life as two King size duvet covers from Dunelm at the bargain sale price of £7.00 which I cut down and made two single duvet covers for the bunk-beds and a pair of curtains lined with thermal lining - a great retro style!

The girls are busy using my new sewing desk - that was not part of the deal girls! More bargains from the Cleethorpes B.ritish Heart Foundation furniture shop; the desk cost £30.00 and Chris has converted the drawers by using the slats from a defunct louvre door downstairs to create sections for my threads, scissors and pins. Brilliant. The Anglepoise model 90 in postbox red was a charity shop find in Bexhill for a fiver, it really sets the tone for this room.

The original wardrobe space is ideal for the Stompa - a great Gumtree find at £85.00 and as eco-friendly as we could get it. We collected it from Wales (yup, I know, a long way from Barton - think of your carbon footprint, more like a bootprint) well, as we were on holiday in Wales the sellers kindly agreed to hold onto it until we were on holiday and we collected it then! The red Spencer chairs were also on offer at Dunelm (seriously starting to become my favourite go to store). The colored chairs were reduced by 50% but I was disappointed to see that the last few in Grimsby were badly marked so the store reduced them further and I got two for £8.75 - always ask for things, you may get lucky!
